![]() ![]() To clarify my point as to why I think it is copying nevertheless, VW up and its cousins are, a new city car in the same bracket, with similar features to the Aygo, for example size of the engine approx. Water leak to both front footwells (fixed - or so I thought)Ĭlick to expand.I was not implying any thing negative by saying that VW copied Aygo because they have not only copied but have improved a lot of things like reduced road noise, better road handling, more interior space available, better suspension, drivers seat has height adjustment etc.īUT Toyota have been the leaders in this segment and have sold millions of Aygo (C1 and Peugeot107 included) before VW Up was introduced, so copying the leader is no bad thing. Mirror cap not attached properly, repeatedly came loose (fixed)Ĥ. ![]() Fuel filler cap wrong shade of white (not fixed - mechanic said it WAS the same colour as body)ģ. Rattle from drivers door lock area when going over sharp bump (not fixed - mechanic could not hear it)Ģ. Incidentally, my previous Renault Clio, not a car famous for its build quality, was better built than the car I now own.ġ. I like the car but the build quality, from my experience, is beginning to look 'questionable'. In fact, I'm beginning to have my doubts about VW Up ownership over the longer term. If I have to take the car back to the dealership again (two visits already) I can't say I will be a 'happy bunny'. I presume a small amount of water is still getting in and, without the heater running, it has collected in the footwell. I find this odd to say the least since the carpet was bone dry before the holidays. When I inspected the car today I found the front passenger footwell carpet was wet again (although not as bad as it was prior to the windscreen being re-sealed)! Another update: I have not used my car much in the last two weeks, due to being ill, but have found the musty smell has returned. ![]()
